“Mimi’s Adventures” opens in Bucharest

Happy Moms Association launches on June 6, at 5.30 pm, at Diverta Lipscani, the book “Mimi’s Adventures – financial education for the whole family”. The book was launched in Brasov in April and so far more than 300 copies have been sold. The book is the pillar of a programme called Business Kid, run pro bono by the Happy Moms Association in schools in Brasov, Bucharest, Alba Iulia, Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu, for 1,000 children aged 7 to 11. The program is carried out in two stages: a play performed in schools by local children’s theatre groups and, subsequently, workshops based on practical exercises, anchored in children’s reality, from the book Mimi’s Adventures.

The Business Kid program started in Brasov on 24 May 2019, at Secondary School No. 3, in the presence of 270 children, with the premiere of the play Mimi and Business, whose script was adapted from one of the stories in the book. It is a project thought for 3 years by the president of the association, Lect. Dr. Ec. More details about the project and how you can sign up on Free entrepreneurial and financial education for 7-11 year oldsThe project aims to familiarize in a friendly way, through art and story, children between 7 and 11 years old with concepts such as expenses, income, needs, wants, budget, donations. The project was run in a pilot version 3 years ago in Brasov, in partnership with the County School Inspectorate. Business Kid has focused on workshops held in schools and unconventional spaces on financial education for 100 children in Brasov in 2016 and for 25 children in Cluj in 2018.

Happy Moms Association aims at personal and professional development of mothers and families in general, by creating communities of mothers who are entrepreneurs by passion and support financial education of children and young people. The association operates in 6 cities in Romania and runs three projects focused on financial and entrepreneurial education for children and young people, one of which is a social project for children with good learning results but from disadvantaged backgrounds.
