I’ve been talking to parents who say their child has no patience, so I decided to propose three games that can be played in pairs or in the car. The games aim to cultivate attention and listening skills, cultivate patience, cultivate spontaneity and creativity. I’ll assume that Dad is playing with the child, for ease of illustration 🙂1. The child closes his eyes and listens attentively. Dad makes a noise with an object, such as: opens or closes a window, drops a book on the floor, pulls up a chair, etc. Child opens eyes and has to guess where the noise is coming from. Then the father closes his eyes and the child makes a noise.Read also 3 emotion games for children aged 4 and up2. The father chooses five small objects and puts them in a matte bag (so you can’t see what’s inside). It can be vegetables or fruit, depending on the age of the child how hard you want to make the game. The child has to reach into the bag, feel and guess the object. You can keep score if you like, how many out of five he got right. Then switch.
Be careful, you are not in competition with your child. Your goal is for you to play as much as possible and for him to be participatory. When it’s your turn, you can pretend to get stung and scream outraged and exaggerated, that what he put there bites like a crocodile, making a comical scene out of it. That way you’ll laugh and he’ll want you to carry on.
3. Pick an object from the visual area and remember it. Describe it in three words: it’s red, it’s square and it’s as big as a pen. The child has to guess the object. They can ask questions to which you answer yes or no. After he guesses change. Vlad and I like to play this game in the car.————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Register your 9-12 year old on 26.10 for the Critical Thinking workshop .
